My Story…My Mission.
MY STORY
I love my work — focusing on helping people with minimal time to spare make maximum fitness gains, motivates me more than anything.
To this end, I’ve developed a program that combines sensible nutritional guidance with targeted workouts that are effective, easy-to-follow, and can be done whenever and wherever you can fit them in.
Helping people live a healthy, fit lifestyle is my passion, and it colors everything I do.
I have earned a number of certifications (more on that later) and I am continually fine-tuning my programs to make them more accessible, more effective, more fun and on trend.
Today, I’m literally living the dream. At age 51, I’m happily married, have three amazing children, a grandchild on the way and I am in the best shape of my life, and I have a thriving business that keeps me fulfilled.
But it wasn’t always this way.
Shaky Beginnings
I grew up in a home where food was ever-present, and each meal featured loads of delicious, lovingly prepared recipes.
While many will see this as a blessing — and in some ways this is true — having a food-centric life brought with it issues that plagued me from my teens to early adulthood.
In high school, I was bullied about being “chubby,” paving the way for my horrible self-image that I now realize was body dysmorphia. While body dysmorphia happened to me as a teenager, it can present at any age — and it’s not fun.
While I was suffering with this low self-esteem, my mom and I joined a gym and I started working out to lose some of that troublesome chub.
Like most of the population, I didn’t mind lifting weights, but I hated cardio. It was a challenge…a love/hate relationship and I didn’t feel like I was seeing results from all the sweaty hours I was putting in.
In addition, I still struggled to eat right since, in our family, every meal was like Thanksgiving.
The Turning Point
By the end of high school my depression about my weight was at a new high.
It was then I discovered the simple trick of throwing up after meals to keep the weight off. I embraced it, happy that I’d never have to worry about gaining weight again.
Boy, was I wrong.
In just a month or two my bulimia spiraled out of control. Throwing up became so routine that I didn’t have to think about it — it happened automatically any time I ate.
It was very scary. It was like my body had a mind of its own and had taken over — rejecting anything and everything I was eating.
After about four years of suffering from this disorder I was tired, lethargic, and my body was beginning to show the effects of trauma.
My esophagus was extremely damaged from all the acid in my stomach eating away at it. The enamel on my teeth was gone.
Still, I thought my “secret” was under wraps — that no one knew what I did to keep my weight stable.
But I was wrong again.
I didn’t realize there were times that my parents were standing outside the bathroom door and could hear what was going on inside. When my they confronted me about my behavior, something clicked. I suddenly understood if I didn’t get control, this disorder would be fatal.
I humbly sought medical help and praise God, it was successful. It was difficult, I will never forget how hard it was for my mom to watch me take medication before each meal, so my food would stay down.
The sadness in her eyes was so overwhelming it nearly broke my heart. But it also gave me an incredible gift by pushing me into the amazing new world I’ve created for myself — and others.
The End Result
In 1992, after successfully overcoming my eating disorder I dove into the fitness and nutrition world with open arms and a passion to help others live their best lives.
I went to school for fitness and nutrition, became an Aerobic Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified GroupX instructor and received my certifications for various exercise programs (aerobics, step, cycle, boot camp, body conditioning, PT and body pump) along with nutrition coaching cert thru AFAA and National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Once certified, I embraced life as a fitness instructor, soaking up knowledge and ideas as a personal trainer and nutritional coach in national facilities like LA Fitness, Golds & World Gym, Fitness Equation, and other fitness clubs.
My dislike for cardio became an unconditional love for fitness, full of fun and camaraderie through group classes of all types.
After 29 years, I am still passionate about helping others get started on their own fitness journey that will change their lives in exciting ways.
Unlike many instructors who have not struggled with diet and exercise, I understand how tough it is to find that perfect balance between lifestyle and fitness.
That’s why I developed my TBIT15 program, among others.
My innovative fitness and nutrition programs will help you finally achieve the lifelong results you’ve been looking for by putting easily-achievable goals within reach.

I have taken many classes and met many instructors but I love that you take time out to get to know the class participants, learn their names and a little bit about them. It does such a long way.
